The guest of honor regrets that he cannot be with you tonight. He invites you to have a drink on him, raise a toast in his memory, and share a story.
When Patrick retired he had a substantial nest egg. While speaking with his investment advisor we talked about what Pat had done since retirement and I learned that Patrick had given away to charity over the course of 10 years an amout equal to what he retired with. Granted he continued to earn through his various enterprises and took good care of his wife and family, but regardless I was surprised at the extent of his generosity. In their lives Patrick and Ann were generously supportive of both their Alma Matters, The College of New Rochelle, Iona College and New York Law School, Including a Scholarsahip at the law school. On Patrick's passing a trust fund will distribute a substainal sum to both CNR and Iona, and the Foley Foundation he created will continue to do charitible works in his name for as much as nine more years or longer.
The list of charites he supported is long, but in the last decade he was very enthusiatic about programs that funded self-sufficency such as The Heifer Project and Ann was generous to both Habitat for Humanity and education for the underserved such as the Hope Rural School in Florida, a school for migrant children and Youth at Risk.
In Ann and Patrick's memory we ask that in lieu of flowers or gifts to the family you consider a small gift to your favorite charity, or consider one of Pat and Ann's such as
